The Imaginary Storm

It was a lazy Sunday for Nandlal, who decided to spend his day at home with a novel. Meanwhile, his wife Asha was occupied with cooking, and their son Kittu was playing on the floor. Since Nandlal didn’t have any work obligations, he could relax and enjoy his leisure time.

Suddenly the boy began to cry. Asha requested, “Can you kindly take the child out to the garden for some time? He seems to be feeling bored.”

Nandlal remained unresponsive, continuing to flip through the pages of the novel.

“Do you hear that? The boy is crying,” Asha pointed out.

“I do, but can’t you hear the thunder outside? It can scare anyone, and the bright lightning could blind someone, especially our little Kittu!” Nandlal expressed concern.

After a few minutes, Kittu was still whimpering. Asha raised her voice at Nandlal once more, urging him to take the child for a short walk.

“I can’t do it. How can I go out in this heavy rain? Can’t you see it’s pouring?” expressed Nandlal.

Asha remained silent and escorted Kittu to the kitchen. Eventually, she led him outside to the balcony and departed. As a result, Kittu ceased his tears.

Nandlal finished reading his novel and looked around. The sky was filled with bright sunlight, and there wasn’t a single cloud in sight. It was a clear day without any sign of a storm…

“I am sorry Asha,” he told Asha. “I was so absorbed in the vivid description of a storm in this novel that I completely forgot about the bright sunlight outside.”

Asha gave a smile and agreed, “Okay, let’s have lunch now that you have overcome such a challenge.

They both were laughing for a while.
